Kristy McCormack Herrera
Kristy began her professional career after winning the USET Finals in 2002 while riding with Frank and Stacia Madden at Beacon Hill Show Stables. During college, Kristy rode for and learned from some of the nation’s best riders and trainers including Beezie Madden, Nona Garson and Aaron Vale. In 2006, Kristy began working for Missy Clark and North Run, where she became Missy’s assistant trainer and helped train their students to win numerous national championships including her sister Kimmy, winner of the 2007 USEF Medal Finals and ASPCA Maclay Finals on their horse Sundance. During Kristy’s time at North Run, she was given the opportunity to spend a year riding show jumpers and sales horses at Stephex Stables in Brussels, Belgium. In Europe, Kristy competed in both National and International FEI horse shows, winning five national Grand Prix classes and competing on up to twenty horses a month. Since returning to the United States and establishing her own business in 2010, Kristy has focused on training young horses and competing in both the jumper and hunter rings. Kristy specializes in training both junior and amateur riders who compete in hunters, jumpers, and equitation.
Rich developed an interest in horses at a very early age by way of his family's ownership of standardbred and thoroughbred race horses. He was the ultimate track rat, learning hands on how to pick and care for horses, and later, to run a horse business. Those interests have since evolved into a passion for Oasis Show Stables.
Today, Rich prefers to stay behind the scene. As Kristy's partner, he plays a key role in selecting equine partners for their clients and overseeing their care and daily training. He also applies his business skills to guide the overall management of Oasis and to help their clients and riders achieve their goals. Rich is thrilled to be able to do what he loves every single day.
